Pediatric Bone Health: Recommendations & Resources for Suspected Bone Disorders

Bone health in children can be impacted by many factors. This lecture will explore some of the common disorders of childhood that effect bone health, discuss initiating appropriate diagnostic evaluation and analysis of those results and determine when to refer for further evaluation.

Learning objectives

  1. Recognize the childhood conditions that may adversely affect bone health
  2. Become familiar with the common genetic bone disorders of childhood, including their presentation and treatment
  3. Initiate an appropriate diagnostic evaluation in the child at risk for impaired bone health
  4. Make sense of bone health related test results and understand when to refer for further evaluation
