About the Occupational Therapy Services
Occupational therapists (OTs) at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia help children, teens and young adults facing the physical effects of illness and injury.
Occupational therapists are trained to help children, teens and young adults achieve independence in all areas of their lives. Our team will work with your child to enhance participation in every day activities, including play and sports, so she can return to home, school or work.
Our services
Our staff offers a wide range of diagnostic and rehabilitation services, including:
- Progression of developmental skills, including feeding
- Cognition and visual-perception
- Fine motor skills and upper extremity use
- Sensory processing
- Strengthening and conditioning
- Retraining of life skills
- Assistive technology
- Burn intervention and scar management
- Compensatory and/or adaptive techniques, including fabrication of splints and other adaptive devices
- Aquatic therapy
