Following an extensive national search, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) has appointed Susan L. Furth, MD, PhD as Chief Scientific Officer. In her new position, effective June 1, 2021, Dr. Furth will oversee the CHOP Research Institute.

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is pleased to announce that Susan Furth, MD, PhD, Chief of the Division of Nephrology, has received The Society for Pediatric Research (SPR) annual Maureen Andrew Mentor Award, which recognizes pediatricians with outstanding records of mentor leadership. The award was presented to Dr. Furth on May 4, 2021 during the SPR Plenary Session at the Pediatric Academic Societies 2021 Virtual Meeting.
