About the Congenital Hyperinsulinism Center
The Congenital Hyperinsulinism Center at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) offers evaluation, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care for children with congenital hyperinsulinism (HI). Since most children’s hospitals only encounter one or two cases per year, it is important that children with this rare disease receive medical care from an experienced team.
Our team of experts include pediatric endocrinologists, surgeons, radiologists, pathologists, anesthesiologists, advanced practice nurses, nurses, social workers, researchers, speech and feeding therapists, and dieticians—all working together to provide specialized, patient-centered and seamless care for children with congenital HI and their families.
Our Congenital Hyperinsulinism Center was designated a Frontier Program by Children's Hospital of Philadelphia in 2019. Frontier Programs are unique, cutting-edge programs that will forge important new discoveries, deliver novel therapies, and help even more children thrive.
